Numbers Show Yellowstone NP Had Second Highest Visitor Numbers In 2024

Yellowstone National Park continues to be a popular travel destination based on the numbers that the park keeps track of.
In 2024, the park recorded a combined total of 4.744 million visitors through the 5 entrances to the park.
That makes it the 2nd highest number of visitors in one year, only behind 2021, when there were 4.86 million.
The top 3 years in terms of visitor numbers have happened in the past 4 years, with the exception of 2022, when there was the flooding disaster.
The west entrance continues to be the most popular entry point to the park, as more than 777-thousand automobiles passed through in 2024, which is a 1.1% increase from 2023.
Of the 5 entrances to the park, the northeast entrance tends to be the least used, however more visitors used that entrance last year, than any other year and numbers were up 9.7% (133-thousand plus visitors).
Numbers at the North entrance were up nearly 10% from the previous year, the South entrance was up 4.6%, but the East entrance saw a decline down 2.9%.
