Secretary Gray in Support of SAVE Act

Congress is expected to consider HR 22 this week, the Safeguard Voter Eligibility Act that amends the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of U.S. citizenship to register an individual to vote in elections for Federal office, and for other purposes. Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray issued a statement Tuesday in support of the SAVE Act, saying it is common sense election integrity legislation to ensure only American citizens can vote in American elections by requiring documentary proof of United States citizenship to register to vote across the country.
During the 2025 Wyoming Legislative Session, the Legislature passed House Bill 156, which is modeled after the SAVE Act and requires proof of citizenship and proof of Wyoming residency to register to vote in all elections in Wyoming.
