Sheridan Commission OKs Vacation of Property in Downer Addition

A vacation of a portion of Maple Avenue from 17^th Street to 16^th Street and 16^th Street from Maple Avenue to Birch Avenue in the Downer Addition in Sheridan County was discussed and consideredby the county commission at their last regular meeting.

County Engineer Ken Muller explained the vacation further and gave the opinion from the City of Sheridan.

Concerns raised included a continued access to neighboring property, which the petitioner assured they would continue to have.

Other landowners spoke in favor of the vacation due to safety issues that could come from development of the road.

Commissioner Nick Siddle asked for language to be included in their motion to include the utility and access easements.

The commission voted to approve the vacation of the property with the proposed easements.
