Jo Co Commission Approves TANF Grant Funding Allocations

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Grant funding allocations have been approved by the Johnson County Commisison, during their regular meeting Tuesday morning.

Commission Chairman Bill Novotny explained that the state had reduced the original amount of the funding, which required a change to the ask for the three county entities involved.

The applications presented to the commission earlier this year were from the Compass Center for Families for $24,250; the Buffalo Children’s Center for $16,000; and the Boys and Girls Club for $30,000.

The commission approved the lesser amount of funding and will distribute it to the entities.
