Aaron PalmerThe Johnson County School Board, during their meeting for May, discussed the preliminary budget for the upcoming 2024-25 fiscal year with Business Manager Connie Gay.
Superintendent Charles Auzqui said the board spent many hours going over the
preliminary budget.
The approved budget’s General Fund, minus SPED funding, for FY 2024 is $20,079,574 with FY 2025 at $20,660,371.
SPED funding for FY 2024 is just over $4 million, with FY 2025 at just under $5 million.
Special Education programming includes direct instruction and classroom support as well as related services including Speech Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Adaptive PE and counseling for students who qualify under state and federal criteria.
The board approved the preliminary budget, and will approve their final budget this summer.
