Sheridan College could soon have a few new courses and a few new certificate programs available.

At Tuesday’s meeting (January 16th), the College’s Board of Trustees approved 3 new 1-year certificate programs.

The programs are in Supply Chain Management, Project Management and Plant Cultivation and Landscaping.

College President Dr. Walter Tribley says the idea for the certificate programs came from within the faculty and explains how some of the ideas come about.

“Typically programs are developed when faculty see a need in their discipline or a real opportunity for students, and then we use the phrase package courses but really, it’s a conception that faculty have that this set of courses would make a demosh of a difference in a positive direction for the student in their discipline, in their field and be a certificate of value.”

The certificate programs still need to be approved by the Wyoming Community College Commission and the Higher Learning Commission.

Dr. Tribley says if approved, courses for the programs could start in the upcoming fall semester.
