cvannoyA large crowd attended the first family Clear Creek Rec District New Year’s Eve dance and light show held on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Clear Creek Rec District gym.
Mike Guyer, who said he wasn’t a professional DJ, just a guy who likes music, provided the music and the laser light show.
When asked if they would see the New Year in, Guyer said this,
He said about the music he offered for the event. “I have a subscription with Amazon, so virtually anything anyone asks for I can bring it up and play it. We plan to play everything from 50s on to some current music of today. It depends how the crowd reacts to it and what they want to hear.” He added that he had around 300 CD’s, but those were his back up in case the internet went down.
There were snack foods and a photo booth for those wishing to have photos taken.
Deb Guyer added,
Jesse Svalina with his daughter Sabriel and his son, Keilan came to have a fun time and listen to the music.
Clearmont community member Cheryl Roebling attended and had this to say.
Clearmont Mayor Chris Schock attended the event and said that he liked seeing young people there, and he hoped they would make it an annual event.
Amy Rowe, CCR Administrative Assistant, said that this was the third year they have hosted a New Year’s Eve party, but the ones before were more geared for youngsters, and she said that this event drew the most people.
“We had 56 people stop by throughout the night. We did end up staying until midnight, most of the families stayed until 11:30.” She added that there were requests for the Rec District to host a similar event on Valentine’s Day, and she will approach the board with the idea at the January 10 CCR board meeting.
