Clearmont Town Council Met on Monday

Clearmont Town Council met on Monday, Dec. 18 with a light agenda.

Clerk Kirstie Auzqui talked to the council about how they would like the information on bills to be paid, and the council was in agreement that the way she was doing it was fine. She also wondered if they wanted the information on paper or via email. Two people wanted them on paper, but the rest of the council agreed email was fine.

Mayor Chris Schock said that they are still working on Well #3 which is an ongoing project for the town.

The town approved ordinance #121, town utility rates on the third reading.

The new rates, to go into effective on Jan. 1, 2024, will be water: 0-3000 gallons, $32.00 a month. Sewer rates will be $13.00/month for both residential and commercial customers. The school will pay $120/month. The dumpster container deposit fee is $160. Utility deposit fees are $160 for residential and $200 for commercial customers.

Schock told the council that the WAM conference will be in Cheyenne at Little America Feb 21-23, and there will be an all-day session on budging for elected officials.

The council also moved to approve another two-year contract with Pilch and Reed, CPAs. The town moved to replace street lights and park lights with LED lights.

Schock said they had one quote from Big Horn Electric,

Clerk Auzqui said that the town received a capital credits retirement check from Powder River Energy, and that money can be used as a partial payment on replacing the lights. Schock also said that the LED lights will save the town on energy costs.

Auzqui also mentioned that on Monday, Dec. 25 and on Monday Jan.1 the town hall will be closed for the holidays.

Next meeting will be Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. in town hall.
