JCSD1 Enrollment Drops from December to January

Enrollment in the Johnson County School District fell by six students between December of 2024 and January of 2025.
According to a report in the school board packet for their January meeting, the district had 1,126 students overall at the end of 2024, but student numbers were 1,120 as of January 10.
In January, Meadowlark Elementary had 205 students, an increase of 1.
Clear Creek Middle School had 242 students, increasing by 1.
Cloud Peak Elementary had 220 students, down 3 from December.
Buffalo High School had 312 students, down 6 from the end of 2024.
New West Alternative High School had 31 students, up by 3.
Kaycee School had 110 students, down 2 from December.
District-wide as of January 10, there were 83 kindergarten students, 63 in first grade, 88 in second, 91 in third, 66 in fourth, 87 in fifth, 91 in sixth, 81 in seventh, 90 in eighth, and 93 freshmen, 97 sophomores, 91 juniors, and 99 seniors.
By gender, the district has 475 male and 417 female students.
