JCHC Board Updated on Ambulance Assessment

The recent report on the Ambulance Needs Assessment, sponsored by the Johnson County Rural Health District, was given earlier this month by consultants Safe Tech Solutions.

The findings of the report were discussed by the Johnson County Healthcare Center’s Board of Trustees, who had an interest in the results.

Board Chairman Dr. Mark Schueler told the board that recommendations made by Safe Tech were mostly in favor of the current system.

Board member Bill Dooley added that the ambulance system, according to the report, is a “good deal” cost-wise compared to other places, although he thinks there can always be cost cutting measures implemented.

He said the consultants were also impressed with the quality of ambulance service in its current form.

Dooley said it is good for the community to learn about the relative low cost and excellent service being offered by both Buffalo and Kaycee EMS.
