At their recent meeting, the Johnson County School Board was updated on the different projects at district schools by Facilities Director John Zink.

In his written report concerning Meadowlark Elementary , Zink said the air handling unit for the school is currently in Sheridan. There is a clogged sewer line which will require excavation of the sidewalk and possibly Burritt Avenue. He said it is likely to wait until school is out for the summer.

He said he has signed the contract with TK Elevator on the rebuild of the elevator at Buffalo High School. They will begin production of elevator components once they receive the 50% payment for the project.

The harsh winter has contributed to the rapid deterioration of the playground at Cloud Peak Elementary. He has have asked KL&A Engineering for a quote for engineering to fix the playground.

Cameras have been installed at Clear Creek Middle School, one multi-view inside the front doors and a multi-view outside of the building.

He also performed a walk through with Arete Design Group for a design proposal of the auditorium at BHS, the commons/stage at CCMS and the commons at CPES.

He reported that he and Superintendent Charles Auzqui will be meeting with local law enforcement to discuss giving the police department access to district cameras.

And finally he said gym floors are scheduled to be screened and re-coated the week of June 5, and will be closed until the last week of June or the first week of July.
