Next Steps for State Budget

After weeks of painstaking work the past few months, the Joint Appropriations Committee of the 65th Wyoming Legislature had their initial draft of the State’s budget for the next two fiscal years ready and waiting to be viewed by the rest of the Legislators and the general public. Local Representative and Member of the JAC Mark Kinner, shared the next steps in crafting the coming biennium’s appropriations.
After 3 readings and amendments in each body, the Senate and House will swap versions of the budget eventually leading to a finalized product through compromise. Before the process is finished and set in motion, it must receive the final approval, Governor Mark Gordon’s signature.
