The Johnson County Healthcare Center’s Board of Trustees received their audit report for fiscal year 2019.

Kyle Mercer and Johns Snyder, with Cloud Peak Accounting, gave the report during the January board meeting, and spoke about a few things they wanted to highlight from the report.

The subsidy from the county was less than it has been traditionally due to the county’s reduced revenue from oil and gas taxes stemming from recent tax protests.

Mercer said there were some minor internal control issues.

The issues were a lack of documentation on patient and insurance refunds; segregation of duties concerning journal entries on accounting records; and segregation of duties for account reconciliations.

Summarizing, Mercer said the financial statements were presented fairly of the financial position of the Johnson County Hospital District and the Johnson County Healthcare Center Foundation as of June 30th, 2019, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

The board voted to accept the audit report.
