City to Host Final Public Meeting on ADU’s

The final of three public meetings to gather public input on the City possibly amending code to allow ADU’s on property zoned R-1 Residential will take place tonight at the Grace Anglican Church in Sheridan. An accessory dwelling unit, or ADU, is defined as a residential living unit that is detached from a single-family dwelling that provides independent living facilities for one or more persons, which include a separate entrance, kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping facilities, located on the same lot as the primary single-family residence. City Public Works Director Lane Thompson explains what would change if the City Council and Mayor choose to amend City code to allow for ADU’s in R-1.

Thompson said the City of Sheridan website has a dedicated page where people can view a presentation on ADU’s and answer a question on whether they should be allowed in R-1 or not. You can access that page through this story at sheridanmedia.com. Tonight’s public meeting will be at 5:30 at the Grace Anglican Church in Sheridan.
