Daniel Wayne Diefenderfer

Daniel Wayne Diefenderfer, resident of Sheridan, WY, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Riverstone Health Hospice in Billings, MT.

Dan was born on December 13, 1949, to Robert Irwin and Maxine Mural Mcallister in Sheridan, WY.  Dan was a very kind and generous person. He loved the outdoors as well as hunting, fishing and camping.  Dan had various jobs.  He worked for Ryan’s Sanitation in Gillette and Mullinax Construction in Sheridan.  He also helped with a remodel of Albertsons grocery store in Sheridan.  Dan also loved to help his brother-in-law John Koltiska on the farm on Upper Cat Creek.  He especially loved his dogs Sadie, HoneyBear, and Skipper.  He met his life partner Lottie Freese online in 2006 and they were together until his death. 

Dan is survived by his brothers Mike (Nancy) and family of Denver, CO, Steve (Rhonda) , and Tracy (Trudi) of Billings, MT, Tyler of Buffalo, WY. He is also survived his sisters Sandy Koltiska of Sheridan, WY, Kim Diefenderfer of Colorado, and several nieces and nephews.  Dan is proceeded in death by his parents, and his brother Bobby Lee.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 19th, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Ignite Wesleyan Church, with Military Honors. A catered lunch will be provided.
