Sheridan HS Softball: The Sheridan High School Softball team is now entering the second half of the season and are about to start their second run through the Northeast quadrant.
Last time the Lady Broncs split at home vs. Thunder Basin and lost both games at Campbell County.
Junior Emma Meyer of Big Horn says the difficulties in those games may have been more in Sheridan’s head and not on the field.
Today’s doubleheader at Thunder Basin, weather permitting, is scheduled to begin at 4pm.
The start time is the same for tomorrow’s home doubleheader vs. Campbell County.
The Lady Camels are the defending state champs.
Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers started the home portion of their schedule this past Sunday with 2 mercy run rule wins vs. Miles City, Montana.
During the previous weekend at Rapid City, the team went through a lot of pitching, by playing 4 games in 2 days to start the season.
Relief pitcher Aaron Baures says what needed to change was the strategy on the mound.
The Troopers are scheduled to host both the Casper Oilers and Helena, Montana this weekend.
Start times are at 11am and 5pm on Saturday and at 10am and 4pm on Sunday.
University of Wyoming Spring Football: This is the final week of spring practice for the University of Wyoming Football team.
The Pokes played their 2nd scrimmage this past Saturday.
Head Coach Jay Sawvel says things went better compared to the previous scrimmage one week prior.
The Brown and Gold Spring Game is this coming Saturday starting at 1pm inside War Memorial Stadium.
Coach Sawvel says the format will be that the defense will have a 21-zip lead at the beginning and the offense has to play catch-up all game long.
The only way the defense can get more points is by either a pick 6, a scoop and score, or a safety.
Denver Broncos Football/NFL Draft: Round 1 of the NFL Draft is today in Pittsburgh.
Barring any other trades, the Denver Broncos will not be on the clock today.
Last month, the team traded away their first round pick, as well as their third and 4th round picks to Miami, in exchange for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and the Dolphins’ 4th round pick.
Denver’s first pick will not be until Round 2, which is tomorrow.
The Broncos have no picks in Round 3, 2 in Round 4, 1 in Round 5, none in Round 6 and 3 in Round 7.
Las Vegas, the New York Jets, Arizona and Tennessee all tied for the worst record last season, but the Raiders get the #1 pick, due to having a weaker strength of schedule.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won last night at home vs. San Diego 8-3.
Hunter Goodman hit a solo home run for a little bit of insurance.
The Rocks and Padres will play the rubber game of their 3-game series today starting at 1:10pm.
Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: The Denver Nuggets are at Minnesota today for Game 3 of their first round best of 7 series.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
The series is tied at 1 game a piece.
In yesterday’s games, Detroit won Game 2 at home vs. Orlando 98-83 to tie up that series at 1.
Oklahoma City won Game 2 at home vs. Phoenix 120-107 and now lead 2 games to none.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche are at LA today, for Game 3 of their first round best of 7 series.
The puck drops at 8pm.
The Avs lead the series 2 games to none.
In yesterday’s games…Dallas needed 2 overtimes to win at Minnesota 4-3.
The Stars now lead that series 2-1.
Anaheim won game 2 at Edmonton 6-4, to tie the series at 1 game each, and Philadelphia won Game 3 at home vs. Pittsburgh 5-2, to take a 3-nothing lead.
