Sheridan Swimmers Successful At 2026 Wyoming Swimmers Inc. Winter Short Course Championships
The Sheridan Swim Team (SST) completed their season at the 2026 WYSI Winter Short Course Championships in Gillette.
A total of 26 Sheridan swimmers went and competed against 535 athletes from 22 teams competing from across Wyoming and the Nebraska panhandle.
SST won the division 2 championship (divisions based on team size and entries).
Here is a recap of the top 3 finishes and state records that were broken:
- Xavier Aquirre – 2nd 13-14 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.
- Owen Atkinson – 2nd place in the 11-12 boys 100 free, 3rd in the 50 free, state champion in the 500 freestyle, 3rd in the 200 freestyle,
- Kortney Fackrell – 2nd 15-16 girls 200 medley relay, 2nd in the 400 IM, 2nd in the 200 fly
- Kloe Fjell – 1st in 13-14 girls 100 free, 2nd in the 50 fly, 1st in the 50 free, 3rd 200 back, 2nd in 100 fly, 1st in the 200 free
- Liah Fjell – 2nd 15-16 200 medley relay,
- Ben Forsythe – 3rd in the 17-18 boys 200 IM, 1st in the 100 free, 1st and new state record in the 50 fly, 1st and new state record in the 50 breast.
- Karly Mason – 2nd in the 15-16 girls 200 medley relay.
- Lincoln Moore – 2nd 13-14 boys 200 medley relay and 200 Free relay
- Maclane More – 2nd 13-14 boys 200 medley relay and 200 Free relay
- Brexton Newman – 3rd 9-10 boys 500 freestyle
- Morgan Newman – 3rd 15-16 1650 free, 2nd 15-16 200 medley relay, 2nd 1000 free,
- Luca Weber – 2nd 13-14 boys 200 medley relay and 200 Free relay
