SPORTS FOR TUESDAY 10/14/25
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL:
The High School Football season is just 3 weeks away from the 1st round of the playoffs, which will start on Halloween night. With just two weeks left in the regular season, teams are starting to jockey for playoff spots. The Sheridan Broncs know that they will be in the 4A playoffs again. This is a big week for the #1 Broncs as they will travel to play at #2 Campbell County Friday night at 6pm. If the Broncs win, they will wrap up the #1 seed for the 4A Playoffs.
The Big Horn Rams also know that they will be in the 2A playoffs. They can wrap up the #1 seed from the 2A East win a win over county rival Tongue River. A for the Eagles, they will need to get another win on the season to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Rams and Eagles will kick off Friday evening at 6pm in Dayton.
HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY:
The High School Cross Country season has now entered their postseason stretch. This week is Conference Meet week. The Sheridan Broncs will host the 4A East Conference Race on Friday at 1pm on the grounds of the Sheridan VA.
The Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles will also get to run close to home as they will all be running in the Powder River Conference race that will be held at Tongue River High School starting at 10am Friday morning.
The 2025 Cross Country State Meet will be held in Cheyenne on Saturday October 25th.
HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL:
The Sheridan Lady Broncs will continue their 2nd run through conference play and they will be on the road this weekend. On Friday they will play in Laramie and then travel to play Cheyenne South on Saturday.
The Big Horn Lady Rams will play host to the Tongue River Lady Eagles on Thursday at 7pm. They will play at Wright on Friday and host Moorcroft on Saturday.
The Tongue River Lady Eagles will play just one match this week when they will play at Big Horn on Thursday. This matchup features the 2A top 2 ranked teams.
HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING:
The Sheridan Lady Bronc swimmers and divers will be on the road again this weekend as they will travel to Laramie for a dual with Laramie on Friday and then swim in the Laramie Invitational on Saturday. Their conference will be in Gillette next week.
SHERIDAN HAWKS HOCKEY:
The Sheridan Hawks are in 1st place in the Frontier Division after the first 6 weeks of the season with a 9-2-1 record. They currently lead the division with 19 points. This weekend, the Hawks will host the Helena Big Horns who are currently in 2nd place in the division with 17 points. The puck will drop both Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm.
COLORADO AVALANCHE HOCKEY:
The Colorado Avalanche have started the NHL season on a great note as they have won 3 of their first 4 games. Yesterday, the Avs got 2 goals from Nathan McKinnon and another goal from Cale Makar to beat the Buffalo Sabres 3-1. The Avs will be back on the ice on Thursday when they travel to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets.
WYOMING COWBOY FOOTBALL:
The Wyoming Cowboys are glowing after their 2 touchdown comeback last Saturday when they came back to beat the San Jose State Spartans 35-28 with 3 fourth quarter touchdowns. This week, the Pokes will travel to Colorado Springs to take on the Air Force Falcons Saturday at 1:30pm.
