The Ucross Foundation has continued their Ucross Spotlight program via Zoom during the COVID-19 restrictions.
Ucross Spotlight is a nationwide series of artist-centric events designed to highlight the creative works of Ucross alumni.
While under COVID-19 restrictions, the Ucross Foundation has developed a Ucross Spotlight on Zoom, utilizing the cloud-based video technology to continue the series.
Ucross has conducted one Spotlight on Zoom successfully with the second planned for 6 p.m. May 28.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Ucross Foundation president and executive director Sharon Dynak told listeners people were watching and commenting from as far away as South America.
The Spotlight on Zoom event will feature Flight Path Dance Project, led by Ucross Fellow Michael McGowan.
According to a Ucross Foundation press release, Flight Path’s repertory company dancers will perform a work inspired by Ucross alumni Joanna Klink, Steven Lutvak and Laura McCallum, specifically created for Spotlight.
The series began a year ago with the first Ucross Spotlight event taking place June of last year during a premier of Ucross alum Michael R. Jackson’s play A Strange Loop, in New York.
The second event took place in Jackson, WY in September. The Ucross Spotlight featured acclaimed composer Ricky Ian Gordon, Wyoming based guitarist Beth McIntosh and Grammy-award winning baritone Nathan Gunn.
