TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers hit the road today play at a tournament in Dickinson, North Dakota the tournament starts tomorrow with the Troops playing two games.
Head coach Ben Phillips says they had a nice 4th of July break and just needed a couple of days to get back into the swing of things before they play tomorrow.
And with the off days the full pitching rotation is lined up for the next several days.
Next Trooper home games will be Tuesday when they host a conference double header with Post 6 from Cheyenne.
ROCKIES BASEBALL – Eduardo Escobar had a three-run homer among his three hits to push the diamondbacks past the Rockies, 6-4. Escobar’s team-leading 19th home run broke open a 3-1 game in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Diamondbacks own the majors’ worst record at 25-63 despite winning back-to-back games for the first time since mid May.
The Rockies wrap up the series in Arizona today first pitch at 1:40 you can hear Rockies baseball on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
They open a weekend road series tomorrow night at San Diego.
