University of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboy Football team is off to an 0-2 start this season after losing at home this past weekend vs. Idaho 17-13.
Coach Jay Sawvel says the Pokes had a better week of practice compared to the previous week and knew the Vandals were going to be one of the better disciplined defenses that they would play this season.
The key word there is disciplined, which the Brown and Gold was lacking in some areas.
Coach adds there are some positions on the team that are lacking experience, and some guys are going through a learning curve.
Sometimes you just have those games where all but one thing goes right.
UW is back in action this coming Saturday at home vs. BYU.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
Sheridan High School Girls Swimming And Diving: Sheridan won a dual meet at Buffalo back on Saturday.
The next scheduled meet for the Lady Broncs is this Saturday at Natrona.
Sheridan County HS Golf: Competition this week for Sheridan starts a little sooner than normal.
The Broncs and Lady Broncs will compete at the 2-day 4A East State Qualifier meet beginning tomorrow at Cheyenne.
Meanwhile, Tongue River and Big Horn will compete on Friday and Saturday at Lusk.
Next week Friday and Saturday are the State Meets.
This year Sheridan has to travel all the way to Star Valley, while TR and BH will host the 2A State Meet at Kendrick Golf Course.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were off yesterday and today the team will begin a 3-game series at Detroit.
First pitch is scheduled for 4:40pm.
The 2024 regular season concludes in less than 3 weeks.
The Rocks are already out of the playoff hunt and have 18 games remaining.
The team needs to win 6 of those 18, to finish with a better record than last year, and has to win 9 games to avoid a 100 loss season.
