Thursday was the first day that they could put the pads on.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says the Broncs got a lot done last week and it helped that school hasn’t started yet.

This week, Sheridan will lighten up the practice schedule a little bit, and have 2 a day practice today, Wednesday and Friday, and 1 practice each tomorrow and Thursday.

On Friday, Brendan Rodgers hit a 3-run blast and Charlie Blackmon later provided a 2-run shot of his own, to help the Rocks win 7-3.

On Saturday, Michael Toglia’s 2-run home run was not enough as the Padres would win 8-3.

Yesterday, Colorado was able to win the rubber game of the series 3-2.

Today is an off day and tomorrow the team starts a 6-game road trip, with 3 games at Washington, followed by 3 at the New York Yankees.

The Rockies did make one roster move back on Friday and that was the team releasing catcher Elias Diaz.

He had played with the team for 5 seasons.

This season he had been batting .270 with 5 home runs and 36 RBI’s.
