Sheridan HS Football: While fans and the media may like to talk about it and it may be fun to think about, there’s a particular topic that’s off limits for the Sheridan Bronc Football Team.
Going into this season, the team has won 31 games in a row, which is currently the second longest winning streak in Wyoming High School football history.
The record is 34 set by Laramie in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
Bronc Head Coach Jeff Mowry says talking about the streak amongst the team is one of those unwritten rules in sports.
Speaking of streaks, Sheridan’s first opponent is Cheyenne South, which is currently riding a 38-game skid, and that ties the record for longest losing streak in state history.
The 2024 season kicks off 2 weeks from today.
Sheridan HS Golf: Sheridan competed at the weather shortened Powell Invitational yesterday.
Camryn Wagner and Shelbi Gardner placed 1st and 2nd individually, to help the Lady Broncs finish 1st in the team standings, by 18 strokes ahead of Campbell County.
Parker Rieger was the highest placer for the Sheridan boys as he finished in a 3-way tie for 8th, and the Broncs placed 4th in the team standings.
Next week Wednesday and Thursday is the Sheridan Invitational at Kendrick Golf Course.
Sheridan HS Tennis: The season for Sheridan starts tomorrow at a jamboree in Casper.
The home opener is this coming Monday vs. Cheyenne East starting at 12-noon and against Cheyenne Central starting at 3pm.
More Sports Start Practice Monday: As for the other fall sports, practice starts this coming Monday.
That includes volleyball, cross country, girls swimming and all football teams that are not in Class 4A.
Competition in those respective sports can start in about 2 weeks.
Denver Broncos Football: The Denver Broncos play the 2nd of their 3 exhibition games this weekend as the team is at home vs. Green Bay in the Sunday night game.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm and you can hear the game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: Yesterday was an off day for the Colorado Rockies.
Today the team starts a 3-game series at home vs. San Diego.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
Tomorrow’s game starts at 6:10pm and Sunday’s game starts at 1:10pm.
