Sheridan Troopers/Jets/Cavalry Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball Team is making their final preparations for the Wyoming AA State Tournament, which starts on Monday in Casper.
The team will play Laramie in the first game of the day at 10am.
Shortstop Cael Hamrick says throughout the season the Troopers have had their share of close games and that it’s due time that those close games go Sheridan’s way.
Meanwhile the Sheridan Jets will start the A-League State Tournament tomorrow at Powell.
The team is 27-22 on the season and will play in the first game of the day vs. Cody at 10am.
Last year Sheridan was in the state tournament, because they were the host team.
If they weren’t, the season would have ended early.
This year the Jets played their way in.
Head Coach Brian Fritz says part of this year’s success has been that every player knows their job or jobs and when things click, the team shows good potential.
Elsewhere the Sheridan Cavalry were victorious yesterday in their first round game of the B State Tournament at Torrington.
The team defeated Riverton 11-9 and will play in the second round today vs. Powell starting at 7pm.
