Sheridan WYO Rodeo: Today is the kickoff, or the boot Kickoff, for this year’s Sheridan WYO Rodeo, but the rodeo competition started yesterday.

Steer Roping took place late yesterday afternoon and competitors will go again today at 7am at the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Fairgrounds.

Later today at 6pm, slack rounds of the PRCA Barrel Racing starts.

Tomorrow morning beginning at 8, more slack round competition, featuring Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling and Women’s Breakaway Roping.

The first rodeo performance, including the Indian Relay Races starts at 7pm tomorrow.

As for the Boot Kickoff, that is at 5pm today at Whitney Commons.

Sheridan Media will be live streaming the event.

You can find links to watch on-line later today at

Sheridan Troopers Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are back at home at Thorne Rider Stadium for the first time in nearly 1 month.

The team will host a double-header vs. Cody beginning at 1pm.

The Cubs are last year’s Wyoming A-League State Runners-Up.

Sheridan is scheduled to play 10 games in a span of 8 days including today.

Six of those 10 will be conference games.

Pitcher William Greer says this is the start of the stretch run before the state tournament, and the team needs to keep their spirits up, especially in the heat wave that almost everyone will be dealing with the next few days.

Because Sheridan Media is live video streaming the boot kickoff, we not have a live video stream of today’s Troopers double-header, however, James Timberlake will have a live radio play-by-play on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM, plus you can also hear the audio of the game at

Sheridan is also home Thursday for a double-header vs. the Cheyenne Hawks beginning at 2pm.

The start time for Saturday’s home double-header vs. Rock Springs has changed.

It will now start at 2pm, instead of 5pm.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were shutout last night at Cincinnati 6-zip.

Game 2 of the 4-game series is today at 5:10pm.
