Sheridan HS Soccer: The regular season concluded this past weekend for the Sheridan High School soccer teams.

On Friday, the Broncs won at Thunder Basin 2-nil.

The boys already had the #2 seed secured for this weekend’s 4A East Regional Tournament, which starts this coming Thursday at Cheyenne East.

Sheridan will play Cheyenne South in the first round.

The winner qualifies for the state tournament and will play again on Friday and Saturday, while the loser is done for the season.

As for the Lady Broncs, they would battle to a 1-1 draw at Thunder Basin this past Friday.

Sheridan and the Lady Bolts finished tied for the #3 and #4 seeds, however, TB has the head-to-head tie-breaker.

This means the Lady Broncs will take on the host team, Cheyenne East, on Thursday.

Just like the boys, the winner is in the state tournament and will play again on Friday and Saturday, while the loser is done for the season.

This coming Friday and Saturday are the regional track and field meets.

Sheridan Lacrosse: The Sheridan Mavericks and Lady Mavericks went a combined 3-0 this past weekend.

The boys won on Friday at Bozeman 7-1 and are now 7-2 on the season.

The team will conclude the regular season this coming Saturday with a pair of games at Billings.

The girls won twice back on Friday, beating Bozeman 9-8 and Jackson 9-7, to improve their record to 7-3.

This coming Saturday, the Lady Mavericks will conclude the regular season at home vs. Rapid City and Cheyenne.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers fine tuned a few things at the expense of the 406 Flyers out of Billings, winning all 3 games by a combined score of 40-1.

The team won 19-0 and 10-0 on Saturday.

Then yesterday, 4 Trooper pitchers combined for a 6-inning no hitter, as the team won 11-1.

The 1 run came courtesy of an error.

Coach Austin Cowen says after playing some tough competition the past several weekends, the team needed a weekend like this one to iron out a few wrinkles.

Sheridan is now 7-6 on the season and the team is back in action again this weekend.

On Saturday, they will host Lovell for a double-header beginning at 5pm.

On Sunday, the team will be on the road to play 2 against the Billings Royals.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies ended up losing 2 out of 3 games at Pittsburgh, but in the process, they got one monkey off of their back.

Friday’s 3-2 win marked the first time this season that the Rocks did not trail at any point in the game, ending their modern-era record of trailing at any point in a game, for the first 31 games of the season.

In that game, Ryan McMahon hit a solo home run to get the scoring started.

Saturday’s game ended up being a pitcher’s duel, as the Pirates would win in walk-off fashion 1-0, and hold Colorado to 1 hit in that game.

Yesterday, Jacob Stallings had a 2-run blast and Sean Bouchard added in a solo shot, but it was not enough as the Rockies lost 5-3 to fall to 8-26 on the season.

The Rocks are off today, and start a 6-game homestand tomorrow with 3 against San Francisco, followed by 3 against Texas.

Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: Back on Saturday, the Denver Nuggets lost Game 1 of their second round best of 7 series at home vs. Minnesota 106-99.

Dallas beat Las Vegas 2-1, to win their first round series 4-3.

The Avs and Stars will play Game 1 of their second round best of 7 series tomorrow at Dallas.

Game 2 is Thursday, also at Dallas.

Colorado will host Game 3 on Saturday.
