High School Football: All-Conference selections for the 2023 Wyoming High School Football season have been made.

21 players from Sheridan, 9 from Big Horn, 7 from Tongue River, 9 from Buffalo and 4 from Kaycee made the list in their respective class and conference.

Of the 21 from Sheridan, 13 of them got 1st team honors which is what is needed to be considered for All-State.

Among the 13 were Dane Steel who was selected as wide receiver, defensive back and return specialist.

He was a unanimous choice in all 3 positions and was named conference offensive and defensive player of the year.

Ty Gilbertson was a unanimous first team selection as both punter and kicking specialist.

Cody Dunham was named 1st team as both wide receiver and defensive back.

Alex Haswell was named 1st team as both offensive lineman and defensive lineman and was named conference lineman of the year.

Coach Jeff Mowry was named conference Coach of Year.

The all-state selections should be named in the next few days.

University of Wyoming Football: The Wyoming Cowboys closed out the home portion of their 2023 schedule with a 42-9 win against Hawaii this past weekend.

The Pokes were up 35-zip at halftime and never looked back.

Quarterback Andrew Peasley was 14-of-17 passing for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns.

John Michael Gyllenborg rushed 3 times for 128 yards and 1 score.

The win was historic in 2 ways.

This year marks the first time, the Cowboys have gone 7-0 in their home games in one season.

The other way was in terms of fan support.

This year 162,144 fans attended a UW home game.

The old record for a 7-game home season was 149,625 set back in 1990.

Wyoming is now 7-4 on the season and will conclude the regular season this Saturday at Nevada.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm Mountain Time.

College Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys won 2 out of 3 games at the Myrtle Beach Invitational.

The Pokes lost on Thursday vs. Saint Louis University 79-to-69.

Then on Friday, they won against the College of Charleston 67-60, and then beat Furman on Sunday 78-to-61. 

UW is 4-and-1 on the season and are next scheduled to play this Sunday at Texas.

Meanwhile, the Wyoming Cowgirls lost on Saturday at Gonzaga, 80-to-64.

The team is 2-and-2 on the season and are scheduled to be back on the court tomorrow at home vs. Chadron State.

Tip-off is scheduled for 11am.

Denver Broncos: The Denver Broncos won their 4th game in a row last night, thanks to some late game heroics.

Russell Wilson connected with Courtland Sutton for 15 yards and a score with 1:03 to go to beat the Minnesota Vikings 21-to-20.

Wilson was 27 of 35 passing for 259 yards.

Denver has evened up their record at 5-and-5 on the season.

The next game is this coming Sunday at home vs. Cleveland.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:05pm.

Denver Nuggets: The Denver Nuggets have dropped the first 2 of their 5 game road trip.

They lost on Friday at New Orleans 115-to-110 and then lost yesterday at Cleveland 121-to-109.

The team is back in action tonight at Detroit.

Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche won on Saturday at Dallas 6-to-3.

They were down 3-zip in the middle of the second period and took over from that point on.

The Avs are back on the ice tonight at Nashville.

Sheridan Hawks Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks dropped both games this past weekend at Great Falls, Montana, losing 7-to-2 on Friday and 6-to-3 on Saturday.

The next scheduled games are this weekend at home vs. Cody.

The puck drops at 7:30pm both on Friday and Saturday.

High School Basketball and Wrestling Start Practice: Monday marks the first day of practice for high school basketball and wrestling.

The season for both sports can start as early as Thursday, December 7th.
