A sentencing hearing for 30-year-old Samantha Wade was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. In October, pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, Wade pleaded guilty to the charge of Endangering Children for knowingly being in possession of methamphetamine with two minors in the home. District Court Judge John Fenn, at Tuesday’s hearing, accepted the terms of the plea agreement and sentenced Wade to 2 to 3 years in prison, suspended in lieu of two years of supervised probation. Wade received 15 days of credit for time served and was ordered to pay $300 in various court costs and $500 in attorney fees.
Also from District Court Tuesday, a bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Lyndi Crippen for failing to appear for a change of plea hearing. Crippen, at a hearing in August, 2021, pleaded not guilty to a felony drug possession charge and two misdemeanor drug possession charges. Crippen’s public defender Anna Malmberg stated in court that she expected her client to be at the hearing and did not know why she was a no show. The change of hearing will be rescheduled after Crippen is brought into custody.
