City of Buffalo to Re-bid Klondike Project

The Buffalo City Council approved City Works Director Les Hook to reject the bids received for a paving project on the city-owned portion of Klondike Road and to re-bid the project, at his recommendation.
Hook told the council there was a bid opening on June 22nd, and the city received one bid from Simon Construction for about $420,800 and another from Croell, Inc. for roughly $287,000.
He explained that both bids were over the engineer’s estimate of $275,000 and he explained why he suggested rejecting the bids.
The portion of Klondike Road owned by the city is from Yukon Lane to Fullerton Avenue. Beyond that section, it is owned by Johnson County and will be paved by the county.
