Trial Date Set for Sheridan Man Charged With Multiple Crimes

A trial date for a three-day jury trial was recently set in Fourth Judicial District Court for a Sheridan man that was arrested and charged with multiple crimes on February 23. At an arraignment hearing in District Court, 25-year-old John Kirkpatrick pleaded “not guilty” to the alleged charges of Aggravated Assault and Battery, Domestic Battery and Reckless Driving. District Court Judge John Fenn set the #2 stack trial for August 23 and scheduled a pretrial conference for July 29 at 9:30 am. The #2 stack means that there is one other trial scheduled for the same date.
Kirkpatrick’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court. Aggravated Assault and Battery is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Domestic Battery and Reckless Driving are misdemeanors that each carry a sentence of up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $750.
