Prevention Council to Discuss Legislation

The Johnson County Prevention Council will have their March meeting on Tuesday the 23rd, and will be discussing a number of bills before the Wyoming Legislature this year pertaining to suicide, tobacco taxes, marijuana legalization, and hemp production.

HB0055, if passed, would increase the tax on tobacco products.

HB0209 deals with legalization of recreational and medical marijuana.

SF0090 concerns hemp production in Wyoming.

And HB0175 would direct school districts in the state to provide suicide prevention education in schools.

Additionally, the council will discuss scholarship fundraising for suicide prevention and alcohol prevention community events and compliance checks.

The Johnson County Prevention Council will meet next Tuesday in Suite 200 on the second floor of the Old Courthouse, across from the elevator from noon to 1pm.
