Council Discuss Rec. District Operating Agreement at Study Session

The operating agreement between the City of Sheridan and the Sheridan Recreation District is set to expire at the end of this month, which is the end of the City’s current fiscal year. The Council, at a study session Monday night, discussed a new operating agreement that would be for a period of five years. City Attorney Brendon Kerns said that the agreement doesn’t necessarily have to be approved before July 1.
The Council is expected to consider the operating agreement between the two entities at their next regularly scheduled meeting Monday night. The agreement between the City and Sheridan County School District Two that essentially establishes and maintains the Recreation District was also discussed at the study session and will also be considered by the Council at their next meeting. Kerns said that unlike the operating agreement between the City and Rec. District, the agreement between the City and School District must be approved Monday night.
Solid waste collection and disposal rates and utility rates for sewer service were also items discussed by the Council at their study session.
