Recycling Sorting Operations Resume

The City of Sheridan has resumed sorting operations at the City Recycling Center. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Near the end of March, the City, citing a reduction in resources from the pandemic and concerns over safety of staff, temporarily shut down the sorting line at the recycling center. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts said the sorting operations have resumed primarily because of the availability of resources once again.
Roberts said that having the sorting line back in operation means that the recyclables can now once again be shipped off to the commodity markets.
Roberts said that protective measures have been implemented in an effort to ensure employee safety on the sorting line.
During the time that the sorting operations were suspended at the recycling center, the City disposed of the recyclables at the landfill.
