Aaron PalmerThe Board of Trustees for the Johnson County School District, during their meeting this week, considered whether or not to have Superintendent Charles Auzqui continue to investigate the possibility of changing graduation requirements for district schools from 28 to 24 credits and reducing class periods from 8 to 7 daily.
Although no decision to make the changes has yet happened, the board discussed two options brought before them to direct Auzqui on how to proceed.
He explained further.
The two options include Option 1, to approve reduction of graduation credits from 28 to 24, and Option 2, deny the recommendation for the reduction of graduation credits, and are listed in the agenda posted on the school district website.
We have provided a link below.
The proposed changes will need to be applied to all schools, according to Auzqui.
The board voted unanimously to direct Auzqui to review and propose updates to all policies impacted by this change.
