Rep. Barry Crago Announces Bid for Senate District 22
BUFFALO, WY – Today, Barry Crago announced his candidacy for the Wyoming State Senate, championing the true conservative principles that define our great state. A steadfast advocate for action and accountability, Barry knows how to get things done.
With four years of dedicated service to Johnson and Sheridan Counties as a Representative, Barry has proven himself as a leader who listens to his constituents and fights for their best interests. He’s not just a talker; he’s a doer.
“I have been proud to represent Johnson and Sheridan Counties over the last four years,” remarked Crago. “As your Representative, I worked closely with Sen. Kinskey to focus on the issues of a conservative budget, supporting our aging population while still keeping an eye toward the future to ensure the future generations of Wyoming have the education resources they need to succeed. I look forward to sharing this vision with the constituents of Senate District 22.”
Barry believes that we must remain focused on the issues that affect us most, such as keeping our Wyoming economy robust, ensuring our children are set up for success and pushing back on the failing policies of Washington DC.
In the last four years, Barry has spearheaded efforts to address broader financial challenges within the state by implementing fair taxation policies. This includes ensuring that companies contribute equitably through ad valorem taxes while also protecting homeowners by placing caps on property taxes. By tackling these key areas, Barry aims to strengthen the state’s fiscal health and provide much-needed relief to vulnerable populations, such as seniors.
His dedication extends to our veterans as well. Barry has tirelessly advocated for the Veteran’s Home, recognizing the importance of providing our veterans with the care and support they deserve.
A staunch advocate for education, Barry has focused on ensuring all Wyoming students have access to the resources they need to be successful. This includes pushing for Education Savings Accounts so Wyoming’s future generations that are not enrolled in traditional public schools can receive financial support for their schooling.
During his legislative tenure, Barry watched as the federal government meddled more and more in Wyoming’s business. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee and Select Water, he has worked on important issues like sage grouse implementation and the protection of Wyoming’s precious water resources. But there is still work to be done.
“Wyoming must push back on DC power grabs like the recent Biden “Conservation Rule.” Policies like this are undermining our legacy industries, especially oil and gas,” said Crago. “If the bureaucrats in DC stepped foot in Wyoming, they would see with their own two eyes that in Wyoming, we already know how to do conservation. We have world-class wildlife and open spaces all around us AND are masters at exporting energy.”
Barry is committed to supporting forward-thinking policies to safeguard Wyoming’s industries and address challenges related to illegal immigration. He will support those who are working on tightening border security and enforcing robust immigration laws. These efforts will ensure a fair and level playing field for our businesses and workers while upholding the integrity of our communities.
“It is the problem solving attitude that continues to place Wyoming out in front with our desired quality of life. But keeping us positioned as frontrunners means we have to stay focused. We must be proactive when it comes to thoughtfully passing policies that protect Wyoming’s interests.”
Barry Crago is the leader we need in the Wyoming State Senate – principled, effective, and committed to serving our community.

When can we expect your announcement opposing him then, Dennis? A lot of talk but very little action!
