City, Engineer to Hold Meeting on Sunset Avenue Project

The City of Buffalo and Project engineer Nelson Engineering will have a public meeting to discuss the upcoming Sunset Avenue Reconstruction Project on Thursday, April 4.
Project Engineer Brent Bennett.
The public meeting will be at the Johnson County Library from 5 to 6 p.m.
The roughly $3 million project will replace the water distribution line and the sanitary sewer line on Sunset Avenue from Park Lane to Cedar Street, as well as resurface the street.
The city was awarded $2.4 million in ARPA, or American Rescue Plan Act, funding and including a local match of nearly $577,000 brings available funding to just over $3 million.
Barnum Construction was awarded the contract with a bid of roughly $2.2 million, which was lower than the engineer’s estimate on the project.
