Sheridan County Commissioners Lonnie Wright and Tom Ringley discussed the Brooks Street Project during a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.,
Ringley said the contractor, Morrison-Maierle, will progress forward with work until the weather forces a stop.

According to Wright, with the removal of the street and the development of the area, safety has been improved, more parking will be provided, staff in the courthouse will be provided easier access and the city will have another greenspace to enjoy.

Cost of the project had increased from approximately $100,000 to just over $126,000 with the addition of a heated sidewalk. Although not in the original plan, Ringley said the addition of the heated walkway is welcomed as the switchback could have proven difficult to navigate in icy conditions.
