The National Division D Award winning program at Sheridan High School, We the People, will celebrate Constitution Week with a special guest speaker who has battled in court for freedom of speech.

Constitution Week runs Sept. 17-23. This is an annual commemoration of the living document that upholds and protects the freedoms central to the American way of life.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Mike Thomas, Sheridan High School AP Government and Politics teacher and SHS We the People coach, told listeners a little about this award winning program.

The SHS We the People team will host a showcase to focus on the hard working students studying to understand and promote civil discourse. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. and running until 8 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 19, at the Sheridan High School Auditorium, the students of We the People will be celebrating the Constitution.
