The Chamber’s Government Affairs and Business Retention & Expansion Committees are inviting the public to join them on Wednesday, June 28, for a presentation about Wyoming’s Tax Structure, presented by Ashley Harpstreith, executive director of the Wyoming Taxpayers Association (WTA).

According to WTA, Wyoming has some of the lowest taxes in the nation – and one of the lowest personal tax burdens per capita. With no corporate or personal income tax, state and local governments rely heavily on mineral revenues to keep services afloat.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Chamber Chief Executive Director Dixie Johnson said she has listened to the presentation in the past and would recommend it to anyone interested in knowing more about the Cowboy State’s tax structure.

The presentation will be held at the Best Western Sheridan Center, 612 N. Main St., from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Cost is $20 per person. A light breakfast will be served.

Johnson said the presentation will cover how the system works and its intricacies to help bring a better understanding to the public.

WTA provides a connection and information between the State’s taxpayers and the Legislature. Since 1937, WTA’s mission has been to advocate for sound tax policy for a healthy Wyoming economy.
