After more than 1½ years of work, the major highway artery on the east side of Ranchester is fully open.
WYDOT says the US Highway 14 railroad bridge is now open to both directions of traffic.
Motorists no longer have to deal with stopping at a traffic light before the bridge because of one-way traffic.
The old railroad bridge was beginning to get too old and needed to be replaced.
The project cost about $12.5 million.
WYDOT adds there’s still a few things on and near the bridge that need to be completed and some short-term lane closures could happen in the near future.
