Ron RichterThe Trees for Trash event was held Saturday at the City of Sheridan Landfill, and once again, it was a success. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The annual spring clean-up event is an opportunity for residents to bring their trash to the landfill free of charge and receive a tree to plant courtesy of Landon’s Greenhouse and Nursery. City Recycling and Solid Waste Coordinator Seliena Parker said they collected almost 174 tons of trash Saturday.
Parker talked about the community clean-up day that coincides with the annual Trees for Trash event.
Parker said there will be a free landfill day in the fall which will take place Saturday, October 28.
