The Hub on Smith is a community facility that offers multiple programs, activities and services to the residents and visitors of Sheridan.

The Hub’s primary focus is the care, enrichment and quality of life of Sheridan’s seniors. One program focuses on allowing seniors the option of aging in place. This term refers to seniors who have chosen and have the ability to remain in their homes throughout their golden years.

Senior facilities serve a purpose and are there for situations in which a senior no longer has the ability to live alone or who’s health problems require 24 hour care. But for those seniors who can remain at home, the Hub’s Help at Home program not only means service, but friends as well.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, The Hub’s Manager of the Help at Home program, Beth Leahy, informed listeners on the scope and goal of the program.

Also appearing with Leahy, Home Health and Respite aid Janet Korp, has been working in the program for 17 years. She told listeners that the program also offers some seniors and their caregivers more than just the long list of services, strong relationships are formed with the service providers and respite aids.
