A number of individuals were recently sentenced in Federal Court in Wyoming. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson recently sentenced 34-year-old Joshua Michael Archuleta of Cheyenne to 39 months in prison and five years of supervised release for the charge of distribution of fentanyl. Archuleta was also ordered to pay $500 in community restitution and a $100 special assessment. The crime was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Judge Johnson also sentenced 50-year-old Chad Allen Kemper of Cheyenne to 30 months’ imprisonment with five years of supervised release for failing to register as a sex offender. Kemper has a lifetime registration requirement due to a 2003 conviction in Iowa. He was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender in Cheyenne. The crime was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service.

U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced 50-year-old Jarvis Jefferson of Cheyenne to 33 months’ imprisonment and five years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Jefferson was arrested during a traffic stop on March 29, 2022, because he had an active arrest warrant out of Laramie County for failing to appear. Two firearms were found in his vehicle during the traffic stop and arrest. This crime was investigated by the Cheyenne Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco, and Explosives and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael J. Elmore.
