Superintendent of Public Instruction Candidate Talks Education

The Republican nominee for Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder stopped by Sheridan Media this week to discuss K-12 education. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
According to the U.S. Department of Education, Wyoming in 2022 spent a little over $16,000 per pupil in K-12 education. I asked Republican nominee for Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder if she is satisfied with the results in regard to the amount the state spends on education.
Degenfelder talks about improving proficiency scores throughout the state.
Degenfelder addressed the budget deficit in K-12 education.
Degenfelder is a 6th generation Wyomingite who served as the Chief Policy Officer at the Wyoming Department of Education under Superintendent Jillian Balow. Her opponent in the general election in November will be Democrat Sergio Maldanado Sr. We’ll hear from Maldanado in a future story.
