The Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey team remains on top of the NA3HL’s Frontier Division, after splitting home games vs. Helena this past weekend.

The team won on Friday 6-1, but lost on Saturday 4-2.

Head Coach J.J. Santagata says splitting against a team that has finished 1st or tied for 1st, at the end of each of the last 4 regular seasons, is a step in the right direction.

He adds the Hawks are quickly getting used to taking every opponent’s best shot, but now is not the time to let up off the gas pedal.

“Obviously no matter if we are 2nd place, 3rd place, 4th place or 1st place, I feel like we get every teams’ best game in this division. It’s just something about Sheridan, every team wants to beat us and it is what it is and right now it’s even more teams want to beat us obviously, as we are in 1st place and every game is very urgent. We got to get every point that we can right now and it doesn’t matter who we’re playing. We’re just going out there and trying to do our job and get wins right now.”

Sheridan is on the road for 2 games this weekend.

The team is scheduled to play on Friday at Great Falls and on Saturday at Butte.
