The 2023 Wyoming High School Football Season just ended and the schedules for next year were recently released by the Wyoming High School Activities Association.

Next school year will be the start of a new 2-year reclassification cycle.

Schedules for 2025 will be similar to 2024.

It will be same teams, same order, but at the other place.

As far as which team are in 4A, nothing changed, but what did change was the order of the opponents each team will face, plus some head-to-head matchups have been reversed.

What this means is in some cases, if Team A visited team B this past season, Team A may visit Team B next year for the second year in a row.

Sheridan will have the 5-home 4-away schedule next year, but the head-to-head series for 6 of their 9 opponents have been reversed.

There are 3 teams that the Broncs will travel to again next year, and in turn, there are 3 teams that they will play at home again next year.

The 3 repeat road trips will be Thunder Basin, Cheyenne Central and Laramie.

The 3 teams that Sheridan will play at home again next year will be Cheyenne South, Kelly Walsh and Rock Springs.

The season will start on Friday, August 30th at home vs. Cheyenne South.

That game will have some historical significance in a bad way, because South has lost 38 games in a row, which ties the state record.

If the Broncs prevail, the Bison would be the new record holders.

After that game, Sheridan will run the gauntlet in their next 3 contests, at Thunder Basin, at Natrona and then home vs. Cheyenne East.

The Broncs currently have a 31-game winning streak, which is the second longest streak in state history.

The record is 34 set by Laramie from 1959-1963.

If Sheridan wins their first 3 games, then the winning streak record breaking game, would be the state championship rematch vs. East, scheduled for September 20th.

As for the rest of the schedule, after Cheyenne East, it’s home vs. Kelly Walsh, at Cheyenne Central, home vs. Rock Springs, home vs. Campbell County, and the regular season concludes at Laramie.

Sheridan Schedule (Assuming all games are on Fridays beginning August 30th): Cheyenne South (home), at Thunder Basin, at Natrona, Cheyenne East (home), Kelly Walsh (home), at Cheyenne Central, Rock Springs (home), Campbell County (home), at Laramie.

For Big Horn and Tongue River, the conference portion of their schedule is now available, which is 7 of their 8 games.

The WHSAA schedules the conference games, so the 1 non-conference game that they have is up to them to schedule on their own.

The changes in the 2A East is that Torrington moves up to 3A, while Moorcroft will move up from 9-man to take their place.

Both BH and TR have a 4-home 3-away conference schedule.

Like Sheridan, a few head-to-head matchups got reversed.

Big Horn will host Newcastle next year for the second year in a row, while Tongue River will travel to Newcastle again, and host Burns.

Big Horn Schedule (Assuming all games are on Fridays, beginning September 6th): Non-Conference Opponent TBA, Wheatland (home), Newcastle (home), at Burns, Moorcroft (home), at Glenrock, Tongue River (home), at Upton-Sundance.

Tongue River Schedule (Assuming all games are on Fridays, beginning September 6th): Non-Conference Opponent TBA, Burns (home), Moorcroft (home), at Newcastle, at Upton-Sundance, Wheatland (home), at Big Horn, Glenrock (home)
