Big Horn/Tongue River HS Basketball 2A State Tournament: Two of the 3 Sheridan County 2A High School Basketball teams have advanced to today’s semi-finals at the state tournament in Casper.
The Big Horn boys took advantage of Shoshoni’s foul problems to pull away in the second half and win yesterday 46-32.
The Rams will play Thermopolis today in the semi-finals starting at 6:30pm.
The Tongue River girls used a balanced scoring attack to overcome poor free throw shooting, and found a way to hang on to beat Greybull 39-38.
The Lady Eagles will also play Thermopolis today in the semi-finals, starting at 5pm.
The Big Horn girls were not as fortunate as they would fall against Wyoming Indian 60-39.
The Lady Rams play Shoshoni in the consolation round at 9am, which is also an elimination game.
All of today’s games will be played in the Ford Wyoming Center.

Sheridan HS Basketball: The Sheridan girls qualified for the state tournament last night and eliminated Campbell County by a score of 59-33, in the 4A East Regional Tournament.
The Lady Broncs go up against Cheyenne Central in the semi-finals today at 3pm.
Regardless of outcome, they also play tomorrow against either Cheyenne East or Thunder Basin.
The Sheridan boys had a first round bye in the tournament, and have already qualified for the state tournament.
The Broncs play in today’s semi-finals against Campbell County starting at 7:30pm.
Tomorrow they will play either Cheyenne Central or Thunder Basin.
Aaron Ligocki will have the LIVE radio play-by-play call of all of the Sheridan games on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.

Buffalo HS Basketball: At the 3A East Regional Tournament in Buffalo, the Bison and Lady Bison were both victorious in their first round games yesterday.
In today’s semi-finals, the Buffalo girls take on Douglas at 3pm, while the boys go up against Torrington at 7:30pm.
The semi-final winners qualify for the state tournament, and advance to tomorrow’s regional championship game.
The semi-final losers will get a second chance tomorrow, to try to punch their ticket into the state tournament.

Wyoming HS Indoor Track and Field State Meet: The 4A State Meet concludes today starting at 8:30am in Gillette.
The 3A State Meet starts today at 3:30pm and resumes at 9am tomorrow.
Sheridan Girls Amateur Hockey/WY State Tournament: The State Tournament starts today in Cheyenne.
The 2-time defending state champ Sheridan Lady Hawks will pool play against Jackson, Pinedale and the host team, over the course of today and tomorrow.
The top 2 teams in the pool will return to rematch each other for the state championship on Sunday.
Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey: The Sheridan Hawks will conclude the regular season today and tomorrow with home games vs. Cody.
The puck drops for both games at 7:30pm.
Should the Hawks win at least 1 of the 2 games, they would lock up the #1 seed for the upcoming NA3HL Frontier Division playoffs, which start next week.
Sheridan can also get the #1 seed, if Helena loses 1 of their 2 games this weekend vs. Bozeman.
University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys conclude the regular season tomorrow at San Jose State.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3pm.
The Men’s Mountain West Conference tournament starts on Wednesday in Las Vegas.
The women’s version of the Mountain West Conference Tournament starts tomorrow
The Wyoming Cowgirls are the #8 seed and take on #9 seed Air Force at 1pm.
If they win, they will play top seed San Diego State on Sunday at 1pm.
One loss and the season is over.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets won last night at home against the LA Lakers 120-113.
The Nuggets are scheduled to play again today at home vs. New York.
Tip off is scheduled for 7pm.
Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost yesterday at home vs. Milwaukee 10-8.
The Rocks are scheduled to play today at the Athletics, starting at 1:05pm.
Colorado is also scheduled to play tomorrow at the LA Dodgers, beginning at 6:05pm and on Sunday at home vs. Cleveland starting at 2:10pm.
