Jacqueline (Jackie) Washut, 92, passed away on September 7th in Bullard, Texas. Jackie was born September 8th, 1930, in Los Angeles, California. Her family moved to the Sheridan area in 1946. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1949 and worked as a secretary and office clerk in downtown Sheridan for a few years, later working for the Veterans Administration for 30 years in Sheridan, Phoenix, Arizona, and Loma Linda, California. She married Robert Washut in 1950 and the couple had two children, Robert Paul, Jr., and Laura Rae.

Jackie and Robert were loving and devoted parents. The family lived in Sheridan until June 1971 when they moved to Tempe, Arizona. In 1976, Robert and Jackie moved to Riverside, California, returning “home” to Sheridan in 1990 for their retirement.

Jackie’s beloved husband preceded her in death in 1999. Jackie and Robert loved animals, especially dogs. They enjoyed dancing with the Big Horn Mountain Polka Club and playing cards with friends. After her husband’s death, Jackie enjoyed working at the Sheridan Senior Center and playing pinochle with friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. In 2008 she moved to Tyler, Texas, to be near her daughter, Laurie.

Jackie is survived by her two children and their spouses, Bob (Kate) Washut of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Laurie (Chad) Edwards of Tyler, Texas; three grandsons, Robin (Rachel) Washut, Christopher (Christine) Edwards, and Ryan (Megan) Edwards; and six great-grandchildren, Nora Rae and Remy Washut, Grace and Jackson Edwards, and RJ and Ella Rae Edwards.
