Punch Card Simplifies System and Allows More Participation
The City of Sheridan has implemented a new punch card system for residents to access free disposal services at the City Landfill.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, City of Sheridan Utilities Director Dan Roberts said the updated Free-Landfill Coupon system is designed to simplify transactions for both residents and scale house attendants while maintaining the city’s six-visit annual allowance.

In previous years, the landfill relied on a database system tied to utility accounts to verify eligibility. Roberts said the new physical punch card system streamlines the process by allowing residents to present a card at the scale house, where it is marked for each qualifying visit. Punch cards were mailed to all residential addresses, including renters, and began arriving in mailboxes approximately two weeks ago. The cards are already being used by residents and businesses.

City officials remind residents that lost or stolen punch cards will not be replaced. Residents who have not received a card are encouraged to contact the City of Sheridan to ensure they are included in the program. Residents who have not received a punch card in the mail should contact the City of Sheridan at 307-674-6483.
