Haas Approved for Seat on One Percent Committee
Buffalo’s City Council approved Mayor Shane Schrader’s choice for appointment to the Optional One Percent Sales Tax Committee.
Mayor Schrader made the request of the council.
Heather Gorman Haas will serve a four-year term on the committee.
The committee meets every year to interview and make recommendations to award Optional One Percent Monies through the county commission and Buffalo City Council.
Last year the recommendation from Johnson County was for $100,000 and $187,500 from the City of Buffalo.

Paying taxes is never “optional”. Paying taxes is always and forever a “mandatory event.” So please name it what it actually is, “Forced Taxation.”
In Sheridan County it was renamed the Generally (mis) Purposed Excess Tax. GPET.
And hopefully the voters in both counties will finally wake-up and realize that all they have to do is vote to give everybody a tax cut.
